If you’re using sharp and power tools, take extra precautions to avoid injury. Will re-wiring be a working part of your reno plans? Before you begin do turn off the circuit. Remember to unplug your power saw prior to changing the blade. Maintain your power tools in a dry condition and only plug them into a grounded outlet.
Read your power tools instruction manuals. Within the instruction Manual you will usually find to precautions to be observed. Use your manufacturer’s instructions for safety. Keep your fingers out of the reach of a power blade. Be certain to clamp down pieces of wood and do not hold them. Remove your gloves and roll up your sleeves as you work around power tools. Eye and ear protection are a must as you work with power tools.
A lot of these suggestion may seem silly common sense. However when an accident does happen (and they do) safety becomes a very serious matter. Most injuries acquired from the incorrect use of power tools could have been prevented, if good ‘hazard hygiene’ had been followed. One other good safety tip to remember is to always lift items with your legs.
Do not try it with your back. In other words, don’t put your back into it. Be certain you have a helper who you can ask power tool questions. Avoid putting your body and a tool into awkward positions.
